Try taking taking an over-the-counter stool softener if you haven't already done so. They are relatively harmless.

Hey Nick, I’m now 59 myself. It may be common with chemo . I have yet to do that . My adt drug drives constipation too . But I eat a veggie diet and it works ok. Drinking prune juice might help? No pun intended but I think this too shall

Pass. Sooner the better . Stay strong eat healthy . Can’t tell you how many crazy side effects I’ve had in five years. Peace and heal up!😎🌵

I'll second the prune juice notion. A few ounces at breakfast, a few ounces at dinner and you should be good to go. Also make sure that you are adequately hyrdrated.

It’ll make ya a regular guy! Wso you are correct. I think that dehydration is sweeping the nation. If I don’t make a conscious effort daily to chug water I often forget . Very bad for everything . Mas agua por favor! 😷

I agree with these fine gents, Nick. There are many side effects that seem to come and go, and it is sometimes difficult to get a fine focus on them, so it is best to have a general regimen to combat constipation through diet (including when we eat).

I was warned when I started this journey four years ago that almost anything can block us up (see: goodrx.com/blog/the-big-8-c....

In my case, I am extremely sensitive to corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone). Even at 5 mg/day, it seems like I have to monitor my ins/outs relentlessly - one small slip of my attention leads to a few uncomfortable and inconvenient days.

Moma Mia! I’m happy not to be on the prednisone... like John Wayne said” a mans got to do what a mans got to do” Hang in there. We do what we must to kick pc in the ass. The prob is , it kicks back . Every damed drug and treatment has side effects. We pay to play on this field .Take care

That's a great line...."We pay to play..." I will definitely use that!

in reply to SeosamhM

Sometime we pay up the Kazoo! As you know right now . That won’t last. You’ll figure a way out of it soon .I have it mildly every morn. Can’t eat until noon . Then a #2 .. but I smoke ganja in order to eat and control nausea.🍀✌️

If you are using opiates Then otc senna laxatives should go hand and hand. They are gentle and predictable. I suspect they’d work for many types of gut plugs. They are the gentle lubricating type.

It happened to me too and I never had issues with constipation. The anti nausea medication odanstetron (Zofran) is quite constipating if you take that. I would suggest dietary increase in foods with sorbitol like pears and prunes and if ineffective try docusate sodium 100 mg twice a day or in combination with senna. Finally move up to the osmotic laxatives like Miralax, etc. I feel you brother. Constipation sucks. I also do not use opioids or opiates.

in reply to Cleodman

I ve had morning nausea for five years now. I just told my new nurse practitioner . She offered me Zofran. I refused . I’m proud to be on limited pharma. We are lucky not to be on the opioids . I don’t handle them well myself . Yuk.. Good day!😷

Prunes.... (pitted from Sunsweet) big bag from Costcos (refrigerate after opening package). Two or three after dinner.

Prune juice.... It only tatses terrible when you stop swallowing.... so swallow in one long gulp.....(Get a good book to read, but I don't think you'll need it)....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
