Midway through Radium 223 and look what I caught....

The treatments have left me pooped but somehow I muster up and go ocean fishing for salmon. This is from Friday. Ocean season closes today.....I got out 7 times. Kicks my butt, but it really motivates me.

I won't be there until September, otherwise would love too. Live in California most of the time and do short term vacation rentals at the place in Oregon.

May have to talk to you about that for next year. Live in North Idaho and visit daughter and her family a couple of times a year in Eugene.

Thanks. It's a great house for a large group. We had 10 people in the big top floor room and didn't feel a bit crowded. People can do different activities and still feel together. We put all new, quality furnishings in it. I wish our California house was as nice.

Thanks for the vevo. My wife and I are always visiting Oregon coast. Your place looks GREAT! May end up renting one day!

Definitely a tasty haul, looks like chinook, catch them trolling with minnows?

I'm having a craving for salmon now!

Good thing it's on my special prostate cancer diet. I'm having pork ribs tonight (also on my special prostate cancer diet).

Well done 8knots! Good eating, too. Inspirational. I just had 2nd R-223 shot, let's see what I can catch in the river . . .

Fishing therapy always works for me. Have a trip planned for this Friday with my grandson. No pity party when out on the water.

Time for a salmon bake with your Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. What a way to end the season. We're going to try for trout at Payette lake in McCall Idaho. Best of luck with your treatment.🐟

Just left McCall yesterday where my daughter lives. Love that area!

Love it, love it. I can't do much ocean fishing in south central Texas, but still love your story.

What's the weather like down south? 85 here today. It's time to pull some salmon out of my freezer, though I did not catch them myself. Enjoy and keep doing and eating what you love and thanks for sharing.

We rarely get above 70 F on the coast. That is why we spend summers here.....besides the fishing and crabbing. Trying to get a trip into Canada in September for steelhead but I don't think I'll legally be able to get across the border.

BTW, fish are coho or silver salmon. We get Chinook/King as well but not on this day. Very low salmon return this year, hence the early closure for ocean.

Same here but this week we are having a warm one, but I am on the sounds not the coast. Aren't coho also called pinks? King and Sockeye are my preference but haven't eaten any Salmon I have't enjoyed. I do like to smoke the coho more than the others. As of this writing the border is still closed, I am a few miles from it. Where do you usually go in, I assume BC?

I went to the Skeena River for 9 days last year. Fish, bears and beautiful, remote, wild environs. Camped with buddy from MT and he brought up jet boat.

Foggy day here on the coast today. I love to smoke salmon as well as make Gravlax. We also harvest lots of razor clams. Super tasty!

Sounds great, and plenty to keep you going. Nothing like good exercise and a meal. The jet boat sounds like fun with a emphasis on sound. My friend got rid of his because it was too loud. I am heading to MT in a couple weeks.
