Happy 88th! . That’s fantastic . I’m on a different body for five years and I can relate to the itching. Especially around the man boobs. It’s the us! 😷🥳

The itching in the breasts is a sign of gynecomastia. 20 mg/day of tamoxifen may reverse it.

TA do you now if Tamoxifen have you be permanent to get rid of them or temporary and can be stopped once reversed?

20 mg/day reverses it, 10 mg/day prevents it.

Thanks so start with 20 stick with 10 is what I am getting. I am still trying to decide if that's what I have or if they are the remnants of my man boobs before I lost 40 pounds.

Itching/rashes are known side effects (affecting 8% of men). How much prednisone are you taking? Is it controlling your blood pressure and your serum potassium?

potassium and bp ok

Sorry bad email--prednisone reduced to 5mg 2 months ago due to several skin cancers on arms no change to itch--potssium and BP ok

With same medication combo, I had still sometimes have episodes of excruciating itch on scrotum. I asked about this about a year ago and got a lot of helpful (and funny) responses: healthunlocked.com/advanced...

The recommendation that has worked best for me is simply Gold Bond Anti-Itch Cream.

while i do not have an specific answer for you, may i ask: I have been on a two year regime of Lupron, Zytiga and prednisone which will end in two weeks! What side effects have you endured all these years? And, do you have any now?

milto27xabc profile image

prednisone reduces immunity and I've had shingles, several skin cancers--Zitiga has given me extreme fatigue that has made me stop tennis and has ruined my QOL. Metabolic syndrome has given me diabetes and a big gut. But I;m still above the grass with very low PSA and Testosterone so I can;t complain

There are two other steroids besides prednisone that is used with Zytiga. You may ask your MO to try one of those and see what happens. Also, and you probably are already doing this, but if you take Zytiga in the morning with NONFAT greek yogurt, you can cut the proportion by 75% and get the same results.

I thought it was full-fat greek yogurt that gave the best pop for reducing the dosage 75%?

Fairly certain it is non fat, but should confirm with MO

Wondering where the info regarding taking Zytiga with yogurt yields decreased Zytiga dose comes from, and do the Medical Oncologists support this?

Recent studies from over a year ago. My MO, Dr Cheng, highly rated, made this suggestion to me and it took my PSA to non detectable with less side effects.

Please confirm with your MO....if they don't know about this, may be time to shop docs

How long have you been taking Zytiga? Hubby new diagnosis October 2019. Been taking it since January 2020. Main side effect is hot flashes.

consider yourself blessed. I was allergic to all 3 steroids they tried me on with the Zytiga so had to change to Xtandi where there are none required. Its been 9 months off and on due to allergic reactions. Just had several reactions today so have a call in to Dr Posadas that Tall Allen recommended.

several small studies--if its not standard of care most oncos wont use it and the pharma is not going to do a clinical study

I used to have severe frequent itching (all over) what finally controlled it was T-Gel shampoo. The T is for Tar, an ingredient that is anti-inflammatory and anti-itch on the skin. Use it to wash the entire body in the shower daily. Works in about 7 to 10 days. And avoid very hot shower water, just warm is better.
