Limits on UCLA PSMA Tests

I am on a “vacation” from adt/zytega. Because I Had focal Chryo originally to treat my prostate, I retain about 60% of a healthy prostate. Therefore my current psa of 2.09 could be related to healthy prostate tissue and not my cancer. In fact at my last PSMA test at UCLA, with a 2.0 PSA, my test came back negative for any sign of cancer. My plan in fact was to use the Ucla PSMA TEST UCLA every six months to monitor any progression of my disease to help determine when I had to end my vacation. To that end my first two PSMA TESTs were negative. However, as I was scheduling my third test today for June, I was informed for the first time that Ucla only allows three such tests before FDA approval. With COVID-19, the FDA approval date may drag for a while. So after this test, I may not be able to get another. I’m even thinking of saving my third one for if and when my psa hits 3 or more but I prefer not to wait. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I know A lot of others here plan on using that test to monitor the progress of their disease. They should know about the three maximum limit.

PSA 2.1 can well be from the remaining 60% prostate cell you have...esp if you have no symptoms and can be physically fully active.

My PSA came down to 0.2 after 8 months of ADT plus plant-based diet, herbs, spices ,leaves and roots. My prostate is 100% intact and I never had any other treatment.

Like you I am also on ADT off period for last 4 months.
