Just found out that Zoladex was given in hospital by mistake 8 weeks earlier before due, first implant injection was given 1. April. Stroke unit did nog get update with Oncology Dept. So my husband is almost given double dose of Zoladex which is 10.8 mg per dose for 3 months. Has anyone had strong side effect from such high doses of Zoladex, almost 21.6 mg ?? So frustrating when errors in hospitals are made.

Despite having two implants of the Zoladex in a shorter period of time, my layman's guess is that it's unlikely that it will have much of an adverse effect, if any. The "depot" sustained time-released quantities of the drug will still be relatively low each day and spaced out over time. If you want, you may want to explore the Overdose and Clinical Pharmacology sections of the Full Prescribing Information for Zoladex.

As always, report any symptoms that may be worrisome to the doctor.
I certainly would decline to pay for the 2nd dose.
