I’m afraid to forget him

Hi everyone hope you’re doing well

Today is our national Father Day!

Happy Father’s day to you all Fathers here although you’re not in my country.

This is the first year that Dad is not with us

I feel weird or there’s an ache in my heart all over the time... I’m afraid that I forget his face and voice ...I feel deep pain today.

Hi Annie, sorry about your Dad. This will be my second Father’s Day ( in June) without my Dad. It’s not easy. I wish you peace.

Thanks John, that means a lot to me that you said that. How I wish he was here.

Hi Annie, I lost my Dad in 2008 and Mom in 2015.

Trust me, as time passes, the pain diminishes and all the great and positive memories linger on...

Best (and deepest condolences)

AJ

It really hits you right between the eyes, when they're both gone....

Thanks, they were both great!

Mom made it to 95 and Dad to 84.

Also, having a sister and 2 brothers (I'm the oldest) made the grieving process much more bearable.

Best,

AJ (from CT)

My father died of MPCa 3 years ago. I think of him daily, and hope you will think of your father, too. Peace.

I lost my Dad a month ago today. Today was a pretty bad breakdown. It sounds weird, but I used to smell his phone when I woke up, just to feel like a part of him was always there. But I realize that my father is still living - he is living through me. He will be alive for as long as I remain alive. Your father still has a voice through you. Your father still lives through you. He will always be with you.

I'm hoping you make it through today in good spirits. I know it's difficult, but try to think about a good memory of him today and cherish it.

" but I used to smell his phone "

You made me cry....

To this day I can still smell my Dad.... The slight liquor and cigar smell. He died many many years ago.....

I am so sorry for your loss. If your dad's like me, he was devastated by his prognosis, thinking immediately he would not be there to support you in times like now. Maybe he lives in you.

Annie,

I remember reading your posts and I just went through them again. Your father was lucky to have you, and I bet you’re a lot like him. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in 2002. It will get easier in time but you won’t forget him. Peace.

Hi Annie1373

I was very sad about what happened to you.

I hope your father's soul is at peace.

My father also has advanced prostate cancer and I am very upset.

Hope happiness comes back to your life.

You will never forget him.

Happy Father's Day and I'm from your country.

My Father left here 23 yrs ago but not a day goes by that I don’t love him or think about him. These bonds are in our dna. Love never dies .

Yes it’s painful but you are not alone. It will be 5 months tomorrow, I lost my papa. I miss him, I always will. I keep myself busy so that I don’t think too much but at the end of the day I miss him and my mum.

You'll never forget your father. He lives in your memories and his presence will be there - its been four months without my dad, and I think of him daily, I sense his presence around all the time.
