Roke,
I've a question about lung nodules. Will probably need a needle biopsy on a small
nodule that's growing slowly. Any one have experience w/ this procedure?

A friend of mine did. It was done in-bore (in a CT tube). No pain, no side effects in his case.
Is there a question if it's prostate metastasis? Is it only 1 nodule or more? I have over 10 nodules both lungs. I am metastatic only to my lungs. No place else. Mine was found with a GA68 PSMA scan. Interested to know more please. Only if you care to share. When you "hit" my name I have a run down on my history. Best to you.
I had one 2 weeks ago at MD Anderson in Houston. I have several mets and this was the easiest one to access. Sending it off for genetic testing. The procedure was painless and took about 45 minutes. I had a small pneumothorax (small area of my lung collapsed). That sounds a lot worse than it was. Not painful at all and no effect on breathing. Required a chest tube for 24 hours to clear that up. Tube was not in my lung. It was in the space between my lung and ribs - basically, a valve to let air out so my lung could fill the space. Again, not painful and sounds a lot worse than it is. All in all, a bit of a hassle but no big deal. Worth it for me to get the genetic info.
I had some lung nodules about 5 years ago. I went on Provenge. The nodules shrank and have stayed dormant since.
I had one a month ago. Felt nothing, was awake through it but did not know what they were doing until they said done. They had to go in 8 cm from my chest with a needle to a 1 cm target. They did tie my hands and would not let me see the monitor, in case I had reflex reactions to stop them. No pain or any other effects later too. Good thing I did it, the biopsy showed something other than prostate cancer, which what they had diagnosed it as. Best of luck.
Thanx Barry! Gives me the idea, and eases my mind! What was the outcome, another
form of Ca? Good luck to you.
