Has anyone else had a hot spot in their thyroid along with prostate cancer? Just wondering what type of treatment was given? Half of husbands thyroid removed several years ago.

Probable thyroid cancer nodule
There is a PCA-Thyroid cancer association: diagnosis of one cancer increases the risk for the other.
One theory is that, since both cancers are over-diagnosed/over-treated, the association is spurious.
But, for reasons I won't get into here, I believe that insufficient iodine may be the link. I use Iodoral.

yes, I've read that once you have "a" cancer, you are 11 times more likely to have another.
My uncle (dad's brother) had both thyorid and prostate cancer. Now I'm taking my dad for evaluation of voice changes - my dad also has prostate cancer and has experiences progresive hoarseness of the voice over the past months. I sure hope we will not face thyorid cancer as well...
I had a hot thyroid nodule on a PET scan at the time of my first prostate metastases. Needle biopsy indeterminate so I had a hemithyroidectomy and the thyroid nodule was benign. Lung lesions proved to be prostate cancer and not thyroid so we were led down a blind path. 11 years later my thyroid is fine and my prostate cancer is no longer that but has turned into small cell cancer and become very aggressive.
They have told me my husbands cancer is aggressive prostate cancer. Thank you for the info
Meeting dr tomorrow and I’m sure they will want to biopsey
