Side effects of degarelix

I was having side effect taking degarelix what with weakness, area swelling, fever but I was tollerating it. Dr. said I could get the three month shot. What one almost killed me. the time release was litterially an ovedose. Went back to the once a month.

I started with monthly Degarelix (firmagon) for the first three months. The injection site for that was sore for a few days. It felt like a giant wasp sting but the drug was very effective at bringing my PSA down. After three months I was switched to Zoladex, once every three months. I find the Zoladex injections much easier to take with no swelling. Going once every three months is also more convenient.

ad Firmagon and then Lupron. Awful side effects for me. Still haven't recovered. Ask your doc what other meds there are for you.

Taking away a man's testosterone is a real mind-f. If you have emotional roller coaster reaction, just keep telling yourself it's the drug, it's the drug. The only thing that made me feel better was exercise (and I'm no gym rat; more of a gym slug).

Btw, if erectile function is important to you, look into a penis pump
