Hi,Its been awhile since posting. My question is there any information on progression and having the Braca 2 gene? I have been treatment free since April of this year. I am as I stated in my first post Stage 4 metastatic with a gleason 9. My PSA in 10/19 was 0.06 T was 68 in Nov PSA was 0.06 T was 418. Is there anyone with info on there journey as a PC patient with Braca2.
Thank you,

Do you have the mutation? PARP inhibitors are effective against BRCA mutations as well as platinum chemotherapy. Normally, you would use the androgen-based treatments first and as long as they are still effective.
HI, yes I have been off ADT since April. I am wondering what if anything Brca2 could mean for me and metastatic cancer? My sister fought breast cancer 3x that tells me that her cancer was never really ever gone. She lost her battle she was 57 and Brca2. They told me @ dx that I have a very aggressive form and from what I have read Brca tends to suggest that. As my T increases it makes me wonder... does progression tend to happen quicker in Brca2 cases. I certainly realize everyone is different just wondering in general.
Hi and happy new year. I know that men who has prostate cancer with BRCA mutation may progress sooner but it probably responds well to some anti_BRCA drugs out there like Olaparib which can be a game changer for you. Hope you share this with your doctor and never give up
