My Guy Update

My guy is home from the hospital. He's on a boatload of pain medication, medication to poop, medication to pee, medication to relax, picc line delivering dilaudid 24 hours a day with a booster if needed, medication for appetite, and medication for nerve pain, etc. So sad to see my once strong and active husband no longer strong and active. I'm thankful he's no longer in pain, I'm thankful he is home, I'm thankful for every minute I spend with him and thankful for the sweet pecks on the lip. Not sure how long I have with him. The pain of watching him struggle and hearing his weak voice. I hope I can handle this.

These type of moments are very difficult to deal with. Life can not be good all the time. Sadly, that is the hard reality.

Keeping him 100% pain free and anxiety free should be the priority. Lots of love and prayers for your family. As they say "this shall pass too" Time does not stop for anyone.

So sorry to hear! My wife and I went through something similar with my father-in-law. She left her job to take care of him, and I would travel down on weekends to help out. It's truly awful to watch a loved one wither away.

Let me assure you that you are doing the best you can possibly do given the situation. Just the fact that he's in familiar surroundings at home, with you by his side, is a victory of sorts. Sending love to you both.
