The standard treatment for cancer pain is to use an anti-inflammatory like diclofenac or Celecoxib (Celebrex) as the base treatment, then add actual pain killers like Paracetamol if necessary. You do not mention what you are doing for your pain. I have no experience of the effect of varicose vein treatments.

Hi I was not aware of this. The MO has given a combo of tramadol and acetaminophen since diagnosis. Are anti inflammatory tablets to be given first or added to the existing pain killer.

What you are taking is not very good at keeping down the pain, and it has side effects you can do without. You do not need a fuzzy brain right now.

The anti-inflammatory is usually enough to keep the pain down to a dull roar, then add 500mg Paracetamol in water to get to sleep. 25mg Diclofenac twice daily has been my "base" dose for years. You will need to experiment with dosages and timing - it takes about an hour to "kick in", and then lasts for 6 to 9 hours. The 100mg Celebrex works just as well as the 200mg, and I found 50mg every 8 hours (cut the capsules in half) worked nearly as well as 100 -and this at a time when my pain levels were of the "no place to hide" variety.

Diclofenac gel (Voltaren) applied to those little tight muscles along the spine can also help induce sleep.

Hi- I'm glad to hear that you found something that is working for you. Chronic pain is tough. Do you know if you have had a change in PSA since taking it? I saw there were some cell studies on Diosmin and Hesperidin and cancer, but they have mostly been studied in combination in humans for lymphedema, vascular insufficiency, and hemorrhoids.

Thanks for your response but I thought it would be more detailed.

From Dr. Google and his Goo goo googly eyes:

Diosmin is a type of plant chemical found mainly in citrus fruits. People use diosmin to make medicine. Diosmin is used for treating various disorders of blood vessels including hemorrhoids, varicose veins, poor circulation in the legs (venous stasis), and bleeding (hemorrhage) in the eye or gums.

What's good for the goose........
