My husband seen a specialist for a second opinion. His diagnosed was the same as the oncologist and urologist. Clinical trial does not start until the middle of September and the specialist said he should start chemo asap. He got his first injection last Tuesday. We was feeling alright until this week, he is very weak and has no energy at all. He said he feels worst on the chemo then when he was on the radiation. Is this normal? Would love some input...thank you!

Update
Chemo effects everyone different. In my case I felt no different, full of energy, great appetite, etc. Others feel terrible. I truly believe it's an individual "thing". To clarify, I have no medical degrees, just personal experiences.
From my husband's experience, radiotherapy is a breeze in comparison to chemo.
Radiotherapy is more a nuisance but chemo was like a bad flu although he felt better the second week after (just before the next session!)
It does help if you can encourage him to get out (best relief for fatigue is exercise even though it's the last thing you want to do). At other times rest.
I hope it does its job well
Radiotherapy was fine for me just felt a little tired but Chemo I felt like crap for approx 5 to 7days after each cycle from about day 4 to 5 after each one, then felt better the last week but it is like having a realy bad cold or flu, I lost 2 1/2 stone over the Chemo treatment but it worked well & did its job in reducing the cancer.
Hope all goes well.
About third day begin to feel crappy. Lasts about a week. Then next cycle. Repeated 8 times. Crappy feeling increased noticeably last couple of cycles. The doses are cumulative. But then, it's done. Hoping things go well.
HI,...Mamabakes994.
My husband was very sick on taxotere chemo, not at all on the radiation. I can't speak for everyone, but I think in my opinion it's the norm for most.
Sincere Best wishes .. Lynn Pa.
