Staying healthy is a good idea! Except for Provenge, immunotherapies have been disappointing for PC. I would not take any supplements while you are on chemo or radiation - you have no idea of what the interactions are. You don't want to negate the good the therapy does.

TA- taking soy , lycopene, other supplements while on chemo.

Are you saying not recommended?

Check with your oncologist. Soy and lycopene are probably OK - I have no idea what "other supplements" means.

When do U suggest restarting taking supplements after the completion of Radiation

Ask your RO.

You could discuss with your oncologist the possibility of treatment with Xofigo and Provenge These therapies may have a survival advantage. You could also consider the trials with Lu 177 PSMA.

clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/resu...

They could do biopsies of the metastasis or a liquid biopsies to study the genome of the cancer to determine if the cancer has mutations which could be treated with specific drugs.

I hope they have a trial in the south Usa for lu-177 soon

Read books by Dr Greger; drgreger.org/

Or How to Starve Cancer

by Jane McLelland and other such tomes.

We had a presentation by a doctor about PCa and diet. He presented a story about a patient 47yr old with terminal Stage4, mets, rising PSA that was told basically he only had weeks to live so go home and get things in order quickly. So the patient left the USA for home (in Greece), on his parents rural farm. They ate what the grew, green leaf veggies and all the other garden favorites. No meats, no poultry except a skinny free range unprocessed chicken, not on the ocean so very little fish. Went down to the town and spent what he though of as his final hours enjoying reliving old times with friends. The doc said that the man was now 67yr old and appears to have been "cured". This is a story that the doc presented as a true tale?? Hope so...

Alternative title: How To Get a Less Aggressive Subtype and Make Money Off It

Eat what's good for you. But recognize those who live to write about this cancer do not have the same subtype as those who die quickly. If it were all environment, people in Greece would die of PC at lower rates than in the U.S.

Absolutely, CantChoose. People who believe that story must be really gullible :-)

This is more a case of the limitations of doctors. Dont take one mans word follow up an get second opinions and retest

Good diet and excercise is very important youre body has to be syrong for the fight, and dont forget attitude

My reply to that is take 100 people and tell them to eat dirt and one will be cured of cancer

Keep up your vitamin D3 level at all times. 1000 i.u.'s daily. After chemotherapy other supplements would be in line.

If you take D3 take K2. Research it. I am not a physician
