Entirely possible I just had 6 month scan and I have had moderate improvement on my metastasis and lymph nodes no progression with PSA rise from 26 to 33 to 36....last 3 months was at 350.....important to have another scan in 2 months or so to see if any progression...keep eye on it!

Thank you so much for your reply.... gives me hope.... My husband is going for a scan today. He has bone mets, LN and some liver mets.. The liver mets had diminished greatly with chemo. and there some cysts in liver but not cancerous... They called them fatty something.??

Best wishes for good health.

Do everything you can to suppress that liver met. If you have not tried chemo, now might be the time..At this point, PSA doubling time is more important than the actual number..

Thank you got your response... My husband is on chemo now, just finished 12 treatments. and PSA just started to rise. Last scan showed Liver mets had

diminished greatly...we are going for a scan today because of the PSA still on the rise?? Has not doubled as of yet, but watching the liver closely.

Thanks again,... Wishing you good health!!

Scans only show what's big enough to be visible. Usually, the larger visible mets contribute most to PSA, but some kinds of mets put out little PSA. You have to assess the whole picture - PSA, bone alkaline phosphatase, and scans. CTC and Cell-free DNA are other indicators.
