Question regarding XTANDI and its effectiveness if kept below room temperature for too long.

Hi, I have a question regarding Xtandi and specifically if it is kept below room temperature for too long, could that spoil or compromise the effectiveness of Xtandi?

You see, how Xtandi gets to me is it arrives at my home in a Styrofoam cooler-type box, and inside that box is the drug wrapped in a thin-line of plastic (not bubble-wrapped), as well as surrounding the drug are 2 special ice packs to keep the drug cold.

I guess my question is maybe even two-fold possibly: first, could keeping Xtandi at possibly too cold of a temperature, first, possibly compromise it as (the temperature in that Styrofoam box is possibly below 68-77 degrees Fahrenheit/20-25 degrees Celsius) and, second, if it is kept too long in that Styrofoam box, could that compromise the effectiveness of the drug? In other words, if it’s left in the Styrofoam box with the ice packs wrapped around it for too long, could that possibly compromise the effectiveness of Xtandi.

Has anybody experienced a similar situation?

I have Metastatic Prostate Cancer and I have been taking Xtandi for the last 8+ weeks.

Thank you.

I am currently on an Xtandi trial and during the summer months my xtandi is packed the same as your. I asked the pharmacist at Sonexus that same question. She said the ice packs would not damage the drug.

The answers say cold won't bother Xtandi. Probably true if we are concerned about the rates of decomposition/degradation, which are usually slower at lower temps. But do we have any real PROOF? Was this a factor tested during development?
