My sweet wife can not talk survival....she does not want me to say, "I have cancer"...She prefers the phraseology ," I am undergoing treatment"....
God bless our wonderful women and partners who have to soldier along with us on this horrible trail of tears... the hope, the frustration, the victories, the fears, the reality of it all...
My wife serves as medical advocate. She is right there at doctor visits, scans, and other tests. She does research and asks questions of the doctors. She is my rock.
My wife is incredibly supportive. And I will likely live longer because of her. My love and respect for have deepened since I was diagnosed. She insists in attending all meetings with oncologists, although I have suggested that I can manage them on my own. It is good that she does attend - she doesn’t miss a thing and a different perspective that is valuable. I propose a toast to our loving and supportive wives as we journey over difficult country! Cheers, Phil
Couldn't agree more. My wife is my number one rock and cheerleader. Always supportive and always there for me. This disease has strengthened our marriage and brought us even closer together (though I wouldn't have thought that possible).
God bless all our spouses and life partners who are with us on this rocky journey.
We never communicate because I use American sign language.... unfortunately she only uses Tagalog sign language. What we both don't know about each other won't harm us....
