Something different and fishy

Yesterday was opening of ocean salmon fishing off the Columbia River. I truly questioned if I would be able to handle the day bobbing around. Left the slip at 6 and back in port by 2:00. I did great....much to my surprise. I kept hydrated which I think was essential. I guess it always is. We got two nice coho and one beautiful 30 inch Chinook. Had enough energy to clean the boat, drive home, clean two fish and then collapse. I was whooped but it sure was nice to get out and do something I love and have passion for. Felt like a small victory over my constant cancer companion. Looking to go again on Tuesday. Gotta fit it in between scans and chemo appointments but it makes me feel alive and more like me!

Critical to keep doing what you love doing. On a cellular level I think it helps to heal us.

when my husband was diagnosed stage iv several weeks ago, I elected to become his caddy. It motivates him to golf more, although he is tired from the drugs and it gives us time together.

On the days he golfs, he complains less about sideffects.

Keep doing. Healing energy to you.

8knots,

Awesome fishing trip and so glad you shared your experience. Many of us forget to celebrate the days we have when we’re feeling good and are able to do the things we love.

Good luck on Tuesday!!
