ODE to Lupron II

I have learned so much from the bloggers on this site. I appreciate what I have learned from each of you. As I pass two years on Lupron, following the typical radiation and some complications, I am slowly coming to grips with my own situation. I wish I would have discovered this site sooner. I am still learning and don't even fully know the questions to ask. I add some limericks not in disrespect to those if you who have it even worse than me, but to share some Gallows humor with others I know would understand it.

An Ode to Lupron II

It used to take nothing at all

Little soldier would stand erect and tall

Now Viagra and a pump

Barely wake the little grump

And he hardly ever stands up at all!

Andrew, a blogger and poet, wrote this in 2015. He's still blogging:

There was a Time

There was a time when,

her touch would cause a stir.

There was a time when,

her pleasure was my passion.

There was a time when,

a simple embrace left a trail of clothes

through the house.

There was a time.

Now all I learned no longer works.

Her touch inflames my soul,

while my body remains tied to the shore.

It no longer

rides the tide.

The sails won’t fill.

Tears fill the bilges,

as my heart aches

to touch her sky.

From the internet:

When a Royal Irish Lancer

Was told he had prostrate cancer

He shouted with glee,

"I got it for "FREE!"

Now he serves as Cork's break-dancer...
