Relief from HF

I have chosen not to take any medications or patches to help relieve my HF. Instead, I have purchased a hand held fan that I carry 24/7. It is my life safer even when I go to bed. It is made by Opolar. If you choose to buy one, get the top of the line.

I too don't want any more meds. Then my warm flashes became hot flashes. My oncology pharmacist suggested a supplement called DHA Ultimate. I believe it has helped, although I am sweating as I write this :) but we just got into FL and it's hot.

I also live in Florida. My reaction to taking meds is to keep them to a minimum. I am 76 years old and never took a medication until last year for cancer treatment. The fewer pills into my body the better.

A fan has no side effects.

I need to get a usb version of one of those for my desk! Perhaps we could also look at some of the methods listed for women in a similar situation:

My wife has HFs as a result of the hormonal therapy for breast cancer treatment and we are constantly tossing the covers onto each other in the middle of the night. The AC has been set lower in our bedroom and the ceiling fan speed turned up a bit. Fans do help and I have seen her stand longingly in front of an open freezer.

"in front of an open freezer". Take her picture and keep it handy when she gives you grief...
