Sorry to hear this. Might still get some relief from enzalutamide (Xtandi) though it’s likely to make him very tired. If the chest pain is honey mets, palliative radiation could help. Hold him close. Thinking of you.

Has he tried Provenge?

no,Cabazitaxel stopped after cycle 3 due to it’s severe adverse effects

Provenge is an immunotherapy not chemotherapy.

Just Bone metastasis

in reply toAnnie1373

Has he talked to his doctor about Xofigo? It works on bone mets only.

It's only palliative, but an older chemo drug, mitoxandrone, can sometimes provide pain relief.

Since nothing helps, was he tested for neuroendocrine cancer?

Never give up.

My aPCa stage 4 PSA above 1300 a year ago. I started on treatment I found with web search called "Alkaline Therapy" for 12 days and my PSA dropped to 362. 70% drop In 12 days!! just before receiving first Lupron shot. Now PSA is below 2.0 for the last 6 mos or so.

I'm on Lupron shots every 6 month. Pain for first 6 months very extreme and focused every few days on a different location throughout skeleton. My bone scan lit up like Xmas tree. Report said too many to count. Now taking 55mg CBD a day for pain and sleep. Still taking Tramadol but down to 2 pills a day rather than 6-8.

My Alkaline therapy began with one tsp of Arm Hammer baking soda, one tsp pure maple syrup, in about a cup of water. Timing important, One hour before any food in morning and One hour after any food at night. Don't take for more than 14 days straight. I started by going on AT for 12 days and off for 7 days for about 3 months. Now I go on AT for 10 consecutive days a month. There are lots of anecdotal stories on line about "cures". I'm not sure about a cure but I was given 6 months (basically told to go home and die) about 9 months ago and now PSA way down, pain under reasonable control without strong opioids.

How acidic is your diet, e.g. your normal PH?

Thanks

I don't test for body acidity but logically cancer doesn't do well when acidity is increased. So I successfully tried and continue to use my version of Alkaline Therapy and believe that is very effective FOR ME.

Well, you're not the only one fired up about the protocol; I'm studying it as well, and I normally look at stuff like that with a jaundiced eye. After reading about that Johnson patient who literally cured himself of Stage 4 w/mets, I've been interested to a great degree. Please feed me any info you have other than that posted here by pm.

Thanks

my therapy consists of 1tsp each, ArmHammer baking soda and pure maple syrup in one cup filtered water, 10 consecutive days a month.

Twice a day, one hour before 1st food and one hour after last food of the day. TIMING VERY IMPORTANT

I’m sorry that nothing has worked for your dad up to this point. I think I would ring the doc and inquire about the chest pain, could it be heart related?

So very sorry to hear this. Hope dr. will have a viable suggestion for going forward. And be sure to take care of yourself. Maybe seek some help for yourself also? Something to relieve the stress. I wish you and dad the best.

What can I say? Is it feasible to take him to another treatment center to see other doctors? My thoughts are with you both. Geez.... I hate that damned C word...
