Daniel George, MD and Director of GU Oncology talks with Alicia Morgans, MD about the IRONMAN initiative. The intent of the project was to establish the International Registry to Improve Outcomes in Men with Advanced Prostate Cancer (IRONMAN) as a prospective, international cohort of a minimum of 5,000 men with advanced cancer, including men with mHSPC and M0/M1 CRPC. The goal is to establish a population-based registry and recruit patients across academic and community practices from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom (UK), and the US.

This cohort study will facilitate a better understanding of the variation in care and treatment of advanced prostate cancer across countries and across academia and community based practices.

I encourage all on this site to contact you MO or go to the link cujoe added and become a part of this study. When Dr George became my MO a little over a year ago he ask me about taking part and I did. It added a few blood tests and an occasional questionnaire so it is simple and painless but the collective information from such a large diverse group will help gain a better understanding of what this monster is doing to all of us!
