has anybody had a run in with this due to use of prednisone? Currently I am experiencing this as if it wasn't bad enough to have advanced prostate cancer(still in remission thanks) to go into this.

Go to “medscape.com”....lots of info about the condition there. If it drives you to drink....don’t. That’s one cause of it.

yes drinking is a no no however I don't drink like that a few cold beers every now and then is all I will have .

What exactly is the issue? I’m getting numbness and tingling in my feet and calves.

Is it effecting one or both hips? I can't lay on one side due to pain from pressure on the upper femoral -- pain to move -- or weight bearing

I suddenly developed ,while running ,AVN decades ago , well before getting Pca. Back then, in contrast to Bo Jackson who got this disease after a hit during football, I was told to get off my feet .

I don’t know how much medical progress has been made in this disease since then; I did an experimental magnetic treatment and after a while, the drs were amazed that I had a spontaneous remission.

In panic, I also took a mishmash of raw grains and supplements

I assume MRIs have shown remodeling of your femoral head. Basically, if there are more osteoclasts than osteoblasts, the normal bone turnover is disturbed and you lose bone at that key load bearing location

Remission wow!! That’s great.. me as well .. it does not mean symptom free or a normal lifestyle completely for me ... does it for you?? treatments = dammed if we do dammed if we don’t. Walking on eggshells .... afterwards.. in gratitude I say that we are two of the lucky ones. To have great results with initial treatments., I looked back when you were on pain drugs. You’ve improved. Hope that you can get a hold on your issues at hand.. we will be dealing with APC until we meet our end. Thank God ! That’s not today for you or for me. I’m not on the drugs you are so I don’t have any answers ...I’m going to celebrate your remission and mine.. We know that the worm can turn it’s ugly head and return without any provacacation at any time.. Recover and be well Redbank.....

Something else for me to worry about. Taking 10mg prednisone for 17 months. Talked MO into 5mg of prednisone instead of 10mg. I am more tired in the afternoon. Just some yawning, etc. Next time I see her I'll try to get off completely. (pun not intended) I'm on xtandi not zytiga. Heard that prednisone can cause the "buffalo" hump you see on older people. But maybe MO is thinking I won't live long enough to have too worry about it? They thought mets because of uptake in left femoral head. I think they may be wrong: kicked a million Goodyear Tires with that leg. The sins of my youth are coming back to haunt me. Best of luck to you redbank. Remission is a sweet word.
