On January 4, 2019, I lost my husband of 34 years. It was a long 3 year battle with so many highs and lows. Last year was definitely the most challenging. Thank you all for sharing your experiences.

So sorry to hear the passing away of your beloved husband. Heartfelt condolences.
my husband flew away one year ago, yesterday. it still hurts like hell. i find myself unable to look at his sickly pictures and have resorted to just looking younger pictures of our healthy times together. it helps...being young and healthy and total infallible. i hate that you're going through this. it's been the worse year of my life and, here, i thought watching him suffer through the last year of his couldn't possibly be any worse. His cat has suddenly become stuck to my side, day and night, so i pretend his spirit crawled into the kitty. that helps more than anything. he'll always be with me, no matter what happens.
i wish you peace.
I’m sorry for your loss, may he rest in peace

66 years old when he passed his time on this earth. Too Too young. May you remember only the good times you had together for the 34 years you were married. He is finally without pain and anxiety while being in a place of peace and tranquility. I know he left you with the thought of gratitude and love for you, his wonderful wife and caregiver.

The time we spend with our loved ones is too short. The time we suffer or see others suffer is too long. As a patient, I know that my time here has been so much better with my wife by my side, helping me however she can. No one can stop the pain, the depression and suffering that this type of disease brings but having a hand to hold, a smiling face and encouragement from your partner makes it all endurable.
Your husband must have gone through a lot but you were there with him and made his passing easier by staying with him and comforting him. That kind of love transcends our experiences here and brings tears to all of our eyes to think of what you and he went through and what you now are going through, as you mourn his loss.
That bond of love will always keep you together. As time goes by, maybe you can begin to come up for air and take a deep breath, see the sunshine and all the wonderful people and experiences that are still out there for you. Don't ever give up on living your life!
I am so sorry for your loss but glad your husband is at peace now and his suffering is at an end.
Love, Mel.
