Hello. Recently DXd with PC, PSA 12.7, Gleason score 8 (4+4). Bone scan and CT scans show no metastasis. I’ve chosen robotic surgery as best course of treatment for me. I am concerned about the 10 week wait until I can have the procedure . Is this a typical or acceptable wait time? My care provider is the VA and have great confidence in the care I’ve received but.....

PS. Vietnam veteran, agent orange exposure, CLL dx’d 2014

I was Gleason 8.. PSA 12. Diagnosed in March 2016 had DaVinci June 2016. Great way to remove. Get going on your Kegal exercise now.

Kegel's are critical...wish I had done more of them!

Welcome, you’ve found a helpful place. Although I’m not a vet. We have many members that are. PC sucks, no sugar coating that. No mets however is fantastic from our point of view.. Much can be done . The wait time is typical and makes me believe they are confident that it is contained .. That is good for you ...If All goes as planned after surgery and recovery the hope is that you’ll be done with PC altogether.. Dont listen to any one negative.. I pray for you success and living life with enjoyment.. Climb this peak, and pray for smooth sailing from there... Take care..

Good advice so far Brother. Gleason 7(4+3) Vet here. I faced all these decisions in 2003. Unfortunately by 2004 I was metastatic. And, because of that and even recognizing that we are all different, I suggest that you discuss with your guys at the VA, the possibility of micro-metatases and adjunctive chemo to knock out systemic disease. Did they start Lupron or Eligard yet?

You can win the fight against this bastard. I did.

to Kpminn: Why the 10 week wait? A few of the guys here also with agent orange exposure.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

On this eve of Veteran's Day...thank you for your service!

Wait time is normal (I had the same wait time).
