I hope you all are slaying the big C each moment and emerging fitter and better by the day.
Since i took your feedback and opinion on the LU-PSMA trial for my father, before initiating.
I must write an update on his response to the treatment too. So Great news and bad news - both.
He took his first cycle on 11th Dec 2018, He didn't have any major difficulties or side effects, to say. No dry mouth etc. After 1- 2 weeks his pains started decreasing and now after nearly 6 weeks, his PSA dropped from 580 to 182, which is a great outcome. Although his legs are very weak to be out at work by his own, so he does stay home, but is definitely better and not struggling with the deadly pains.
Although he has shown hematotoxicity, which only under 10% patients show.
May be because his Bone marrow is affected by the disease or other reasons, but his Leukocyte counts has dropped to 3500 (normal being 4000 - 10000)
His Platelet cells have lowered to 93,000 (normal being 150,000 -450,000)
HB has dropped to 7.7 too.
He is being given whole blood transfusions and seen if the decreasing trend stops, his next cycle (already postponed to 11th feb) may have to further be postponed till the counts stabilize.
But over all he looks better and happy and i cant thank god enough for it.
Sending healing vibes to everybody on this community.
Om!!!!

Thanks GP24. He did try to take short walks but unfortunately lost balance and fell down two times, so it worries him and us too. His disease has made him loose 26 kgs of weight and his legs seem toooo weak.
But for sure, after a few days, we shall ask him to try taking those walks again.
I hope the leukopenia, anemia and thrombocytopenia are managed well and he is able to take his second transfusion soon in time. It is definitely great to see him look and feel better.
What a great response! Sorry to hear the side affects are so troublesome. Hopefully they will resolve quickly. My husband just had his 3rd lu 177 treatment. He has not gotten dramatic psa reduction but has had a big reduction in pain.
Om to you too and namaste. You write as if you're in the medical field. Is that so? Sometimes support stocking help with his leg issues. Hopefully he will use a walker and get around to using his legs, because you don't want them to atrophy. I don't know if you're still in India but when I leave any east Indians I don't say namaste, I say "umustay" and "imustgo"...
