A diet without vegetable oils has kept me alive for 23 years since diagnosis. I eliminated all foods high in Omega 6 fats and increased the Omega 3 fats (for example, replaced all grain-fed beef and pork meat with low fat fish and free range poultry). I lost 90 lbs of fat over a few years and my high cholesterol, 3 heart blockages, etc. disappeared. PSA remained low for about 15 years. This has starved my PCA, and while it has been metastatic for years, it is no longer aggressive. The hard part until recently was finding foods on store shelves with olive instead of vegetable oils (corn, soy, canola, etc.). This diet was prescribed by Dr. Charles E. Myers who has now retired. (Google “snuffy diet”) for info.

I also am a Snuffy patient. Add one more oil to the list that they are now sneaking into everything --- Sunflower oil. Food manufacturers are complicit in the health epidemic in America - In my opinion.

Thanks ! I’ve been using Snuffy based treatment meds but not his diet. I’ll google it.

Hey Roger

I just found that Snuffy’s book was written in 2007 which is really dated based on treatment progress since then. I subscribe to his newsletter “ Prostapedia” where has guests opine on latest treatments so he keeps us up to date that way. Have his nutrition ideas been the same since ‘07?

You might find Dr. Michael Greger's free downloadable app "The Daily Dozen" a useful tool to help navigate food choices, especially if you are interested in studying veganism. You may also enjoy these short videos:

I'll stick to my garlic flavored chocolate chip ice cream (2 scoops) topped with 100% pure extra virgin cold pressed Greek olive oil.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
