What's the deal with this? Anyone had this treatment via the UK NHS? I'm currently in Germany waiting for Lu177 (PSMA scan qualified well) and wondering now if I could even get it in the UK. Heidelberg seem to have an alpha version of this drug that works well - this was suggested for me. Very widespread bone mets in spine / hips, PSA of 150ish... bad shape overall.

Lu177 in UK?
I think the "alpha version" (Ac-225-PSMA-617) may be especially potent. A phase 3 trial of Lu-177-PSMA-617 has started recruiting in the UK, but you have to be willing to be randomized and possibly get no treatment.
The flier you linked to is for a different treatment for a different disease. It is the PSMA ligand (the ligand is the part that attaches to the cancer cell) that makes it effective for prostate cancer. The Lu-177 is just the radioactive (beta emitter) part of the molecule. The medicine in the flier (called Lutathera) is only approved for neuroendocrine cancer of the digestive tract, and has no known use for prostate cancer.
Yes it's remarkable.. The doctor in Marburg was very encouragung aboyt me going to Heidelberg for this alpha version of Lu177.. My scan is almost as bad.. Hope it helps me! ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/news/pr...
