Natural cancer cures : Truth/Myth?

The internet is jammed with natural cures for cancer, I have heard a lot about the following -

1. Soursop/Graviola leaves

2. Bitter Apricot Kernels (Hunza)

3. Baking soda and molasses

Has anyone tried any of the above ?

Would like to know your opinions, experience & the associated risk (if any)

Baking Soda and Mollasses are really good for making cakes.

Apricot Kernels contain Cyanide.

Anyone else like to join in?

WRONG, APRICOT KERNELS DO CONTAIN CYANIDE, BUT YOU HAVE TO CONSUME AT LEAST 50-60 KERNELS AS A SLURRY AT ONE TIME GO GET ANY TOXICITY. NORMAL DOSAGE IS 40 PER DAY IN DIVIDED DOSES OF 10 KERNELS AT EACH TIME.

Are you consuming it? How effective was it ?

if you do at least 40 per day in divided doses, of 10 at a time or better 15 at a time, results or effects are quick within 3 days.

There are no natural cures for PCa IMO. When someone sees the "cure" word it can be tempting to try it. One can waste a lot of time with Budwig, etc.

What I do believe is that there are natural substances that may slow progression. I have many old posts on supplements where I found PCa studies on PubMed.

Agreed. Slowing progression is all we have at the moment - so that has to be the aim - like it or not.

A friend of mine told me to eat pig knuckles and rice but i told him that I rely on two scoops of chocolate chip ice cream a day. BTW I visit my friend monthly but can't shake his hand since he's wearing a straight jacket.

Good Luck and Good Health.

I favor chocolate ice cream. It may not do much for the PCa, but it sure makes me happy. My MO is all in favor of happiness while prescribing Lupron and docetaxel which have lowered my PSA from 148 to 1.17 in 3 months.

Re: Apricots - This one has been around for decades, well known as Laetrile in years past. Sorry, but it does not work and is not necessarily safe. Many people chose to forgo proven cancer treatments to pursue this, often in Mexican clinics that were unregulated, and they progressed and died. Current treatment (surgery, XRT, ADT, docetaxel to name the most well researched) has proven efficacy when used appropriately. And, at least, the side effects are known and acknowledged (read the consent forms from the surgeon, Radonc and Medonc). Why go after something so bogus when real treatment is available?

Baking soda and Molasses! Really? Good for pancakes and waffles and pecan pie, none of which appear to cure cancer.

Other leaves and herbs: What’s the strength? What’s the dose? How potent? Where’s the proof, other than “someone I know did well?” Anecdotal tales are not proof.

The history of medicine is full of unproven claims. There is much that is not known, but why not rely on what is known. The rest is a crapshoot with low odds of success, no better than random chance.

let me remind you, that proven claims via studies, which can be altered and not necessarily done statistically correct (biases), plus fda approval is not to be taken at face value. If the fda's approval of a drug or treatment is valid, then look at all the lawsuits for adverse effects and unwarranted deaths. The fda is bought and paid for.

proven, I love that, let these aholes onco's be held accountable, if you're well at 5 years and 1 day with a quality of life index of 8, then the quack gets paid, otherwise if he won't take the bet, then let him fckoff!
