BioBran got a bad press at some stage, but early this year I found a review article
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/290...
which convinced me. It looked at every mention of biobran in the published literature and found positive (or at worst neutral) results in every single case with zero side effects. So, soon after starting chemo (docetaxel) I took 3 gm a day (used in most of the trials) and am convinced that it reduced the side effects of chemo. Once chemo was finished, I reduced to 1 gm a day. The only down side is that BioBran is expensive, around £10 a day for 3 gm.
More recently, Calbear74 discussed beta-glucans, and recommended Beta Glucan #300 from Transfer Point.
James Wisely betaglucan.reviews/?gclid=C...
recommends glucan elite but I am suspicious of this sponsored article and not sure I can get glucan elite in the UK anyway.
Both BioBran and beta glucans are immunomodulators. I am not clear whether BioBran is a beta glucan itself. I found a reference
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
which says "The mechanism of MGN-3 as an antioxidant is not fully understood, but it could be associated with the presence of β-glucans".
I am wondering whether to buy more BioBran or swop to a recommended beta glucan, Can anybody advise me?
