I just wanted to share how a little break helped recharged my husband in fighting prostate cancer! So, we recently just came back from 3-wk Europe trip (mostly business and short vacay) and just happy to share that hubby was able to hike for more than 6hours (in Switzerland at the time) while holding onto a very excited dog who keeps tugging and pulling all the time! Hope he stays strong like this everyday! God is good! Prayers for strength, love and positivity to all the good looking gentlemen and their loving wives in this group! Fight the good fight!

Wow! nice trip. I'm happy to get out of my county once a month.
Thank you for the hope!! My husband was just diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer with Met in bones & nodes. On ADT-Firmagon now and 1st appointment with Chemo Dr today to review plan. We just retired 2 years ago ...this has been a shock for us. Yesterday we went to church and prayed the doctors will be able to provide the best treatment for him...We have been married for 38 years and he is the Love of my Life.
Hang in there WifeofD! I can see how much you really love your husband and he is very lucky to have you! Stay strong and we should always try to keep the sunshine in the midst of the clouds over our heads! All the best to you and your husband! π
One of the first people who made a difference in my life right after the diagnosis was a woman who said... FEAR will try to get you...
She was very strong in her statement to me. It has been an anchor for me throughout the years. And, yes, years.... mets upon diagnosis also....
Someone mentioned the word 'grit'. I believe it is such a balancing act. We are changed people. We look for the silver lining in everything. There ARE bouts of fear... what I would say is.. see if you can stay in the moment. This is where any respite is.... I look over at him and say.. I'm here, he's here and nothing is happening in this moment.
We have worked at this.... if all depends on what is happening and where you are at the moment. The tests and Dr. appts for us are the hardest. My husband stays very involved in what he loves. I'm mostly the one who does the research and have joined the groups.
Personally, we bless everything. We go for a scan and we bless it all. We bless the workers and the wingless angels we find along the way. This is life.. we just never really know.
I wish you the best.. It's a journey.. there are spaces in between where 'life is living'.. you are at a beginning stage, when life changes in a minute... for us it did...
I would say, dig into the faith you have... or whatever helps you and gives you strength.
We were talking today about how close we've gotten through all of this... you can always find a little silver lining. Hang in there.. you are not alone.
Welcome back to the Pines you missed all of the Ulan I guess. We hit it when we were there in June (rainy season). Did you load up with chocolates in a balikbayan box for relatives? I'm still looking into a different MO in the pines you may wish to consider consulting with. I didn't forget but you know filipino time... BTW do you know the singer Juris? Sige na.
Ahaha howd u know about the chocolates? Actually brought some cheese too! Btw, Its still raining now and no worries about doctor, take ur time π Oh you know Juris? I actually know her husband more, he courted me back in our College days (more than 25 million years ago ahaha) but we were just friends, sorry may tsismis pa π
Take Care always and kumusta sa iyong magandang maybahay π
Two types of weather in the Pines.... Hot or Hot and Wet. Well my wife's nephew is married to Juris' sister. I met her husband once or twice... (but I'm more Pogi-er, LOL).
Thank you, she's not only beautiful.... she's so sharp.... She attended Manila science High school and then U.P..... She's very smart, the only dumb thing she did was to marry me.
Oh wow! You are indeed very lucky! But im sure she is also very lucky to have a very smart and fun loving husband in you! I bet thereβs no dull moment in your household! π
All the best to you and your family and hopefully we all get to beat this disease someday π
Headed for hilton head next week.....golf while still can.....or till i have to hit from ladies.....no offense p.c. wives....your the angels that guide us....
