If I go for the 1 250 mg tablet per day with a low fat breakfast, it seems logical to reduce the prednisone by the same ratio and take 2.5 mg pee day. Anyone have experience with this?

Your logic is faulty. The idea of taking 250 mg with a high fat breakfast is that you get the SAME amount of abiraterone in your bloodstream as when you take 1000 mg fasting. It has the same effect on your cortisol level, which still requires the same amount of replacement.
