Reduction in daily Zytiga

I spoke with my MO about the problems with my ability to think and remember. She suggested moving from 1000 mg to 750 mg Zytiga. Her comment was that 750 works just as well as 1000 and may provide some relief on the mental issues. Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!

There's no evidence that 750 mg works just as well as 1000 mg. If there were, everyone would switch to 750 mg.

From what I've read, 1000 mg was based on saturation and lower SE. Not necessarily efficacy....(said with hope in my voice.) It's bad enough that all things sex is gone but to lose my mental capabilities is frustrating.

It says: "A plateau of endocrine effects was reported at doses greater than 750 mg, and 1,000 mg was selected as the dose for phase II evaluation."

I do not remember what dosage I took, but Zytiga has allowed me to be stabilized, or no evidence of cancer since July, 2021.

Zytiga didn’t affect my memory, as far as I’m aware. But Xtandi did. After the first week on Xtandi my doc asked me if I could still understand what I read! Surprised me more than a little. Xtandi crosses the blood-brain barrier more than Zytega, I think. Good luck to all! YinYin.

Due to increased liver numbers I had to stop Zytiga completely for several weeks back in 2018. I resumed at 500mg and went to 750 mg when there were no liver issues. Doc was ok with me staying at 750. Always <0.01 while on it and still there 10 months after stopping.
