My dad was diagnosed with metastatic cancer prostate 2 months ago he is on leupron and managing to start zytiga

He has along history with cardiac problems

He is now suffering from chest pain daily and his cardiologist said that may be because of leupron

Firmagon has been shown to have less cardiac risks than Lupron and equally effective lowering testosterone. It’s a monthly uncomfortable subcutaneous injection so is not as well known.

Refining the injection technique for Firmagon can alleviate much if not all of the discomfort:

1) 45-degree or possibly more injection angle,

2) Slow injection,

3) Leave the needle in for one minute before withdrawal, and

4) Slow withdrawal.

The goal is ito nject the solution is deeply as possible, and let it solidify so it doesn't track the needle pathway back to near the skin surface where the irritation and discomfort occurs.
