So I spoke, on Paul's behalf, to our oncologist this morning. The Xray that was done of his lung yesterday shows that there is still something on his left lung in the same spot at the base of the lung where it was before. When I asked the oncologist what he thought about that he said he would have thought that the lungs should be a lot better after all the antibiotics and the breathing exercises that Paul has been doing. I asked him if Chemo was off or if we should still go ahead. He said we should go ahead but not as originally planned tomorrow because should Paul feel worse again and it would be the weekend that wouldn't be good but we will do it next week on Tuesday.
The CRP inflamation marker is at 96 at the moment. Yesterday when Paul got his bloods taken the CRP was not on the form but I asked the nurse to take it anyway because I wanted to know what it is and this turns out to have been a good idea because the oncologist can see that there is the relationship between what is going on in the lungs and the CRP being high.
So I suppose we are at the very risky point now that, on one hand, it would be good if we could wait and see what happens with Paul's lung and whether it will inflate itself naturally again, but on the other hand, we don't have that much time because his liver markers are getting worse and I can actually feel his enlarged liver now myself so something needs to happen.
So this is the update from here. Not too good but not too bad either. At least the Chemo is not off.
Best wishes
Mel.

But I also use apigenin, fisetin, milk thistle, boswellia, quercetin, CranMax, etc.
Usually well-tolerated at higher doses.
A standard blood panel will include albumin. It's a good basic marker of inflammation. <4.0 is not good; >=4.5 is best. In-between? Take more polyphenols.
Has worked for me. Not a cure, but slows things down. & men who do not have subclinical inflammation have better response to therapies & lower mortality.
He is so fed up with taking things at this stage but takes the tablets I give him every morning and three times daily. So I will just add them to the mix. It can't do any harm, can it?
Not easy to compare products. I use Nitro250 - 250 mg Trans-Resveratrol. How does this micronized dose compare to LEF's Optimized Resveratrol 250 mg Trans-Resveratrol? No idea.
& said that he noticed an effect on men with late-stage PCa, which impressed me.
Prior to that I went through a few years of avoidance because of its effect on SIRT1.
LEF says "Activate your "longevity" genes" with Optimized Resveratrol. OK in healthy cells, but "longevity" is what we want to combat in PCa. Read up on SIRT1.
Damed infections... hope the lung perks up. I’m with ya. Liver is scary... a lot going on...... Im praying for him to get that imunity up and an elimination of pain. ... , please deep breath yourself.. You are increadible Mel... Thanks for the update.. Hang in there Paul . We re all pulling for this to turn around...
I believe in the power of prayer and lots of prayers coming your way, 🙏🏻 keep strong and know that all of us are rooting for both you and Paul. We will never give up!!!!
I too believe in the power of prayer. When I say prayer I don't mean prayer to God as part of a religion, but I like to think that our thoughts and especially when they are loving and for healing, an intention that we send out, can manifest. I have set up an intention group for Paul when he was in hospital. I would ask people who know and like Paul or to whom Paul is important to sit down quietly at 9PM each evening, 9PM Irish time, and have the intention for 10 minutes that Paul be healthy and strong. I had 8 people doing it at one stage. I can't say whether it did help or it did not help, but what I can say was that I wouldn't like to be without this group in case it helps. We are still doing this each evening. At the moment, though, we are more specific and concentrate on that his lungs be healthy and strong and that all infection has cleared from his body.
Paul's last bloods show that he is low in Albumin. I read a lot about hypoalbuminia (is that the word) last night. It can be caused by malnutrition but also by infection and inflamation in the body and also when there is liver disease. So all three things are present with Paul. We are trying to take in as much Albumin now as possible in the hope that it works.
Oh I forgot to say that I got Paul some cough medicine yesterday and it seems to help to clear the lungs. I don't understand why they didn't give that to him in hospital along with the antibiotics! I hope that he did not re-infect himself during the weeks when he couldn't cough anything up. But maybe we were just in time with the cough medicine.
We might try to get out today for a little bit. We are afraid in case he gets cold or it is too much. But maybe it will cheer him up as well and have a positive effect.
