I'm 74 and have stage 4 low volume PC. One lesion in the bone. My gleason 8 and psa now 1.2 from 34. I'm on Zytiga, prednesone, lupron and my enzymes were normal beore meds. I've been on Zytiga since Jan 18 and liver enzymes are now at AST 46 and ALT 78. I've been off Zytiga for 1 1/2 weeks and it has come down slightly. Will be retested in another 5 days. My oncologist wants to try 3 pills next and then maybe go to 2. I don't like the idea with toying with the liver and would rather go to 2 pills next if enzymes are normal. He is dead against supplements and is by the book. Any thoughts?

Zytiga and elevated liver enzymes
I am 70 and had a very similar experience. I was off Zytiga for 2 weeks then went back on 750 mg (3 pills) and liver test are now perfect and have been for the last 60 days. I suggest trying that as your Oncologist suggests. My PSA was 83 - 6 weeks ago and is now down to 51. My goal is to convince my Oncologist to put me on 250 mg Zytiga with a low fat breakfast and see how that works once my PSA is where we want it.
I'm considering changing oncologists but don't have many options living in a remote area. What is your recommended dosage for both dandelion and milk thistle? I'm considering both until my liver function is restored. Once I restart my reduced Zytiga dosage and it becomes stable is it safe to stay on that supplement path? I don't know why my oncologist didn't recognize my enzymes were elevated after my first blood test after starting Zytiga. I would have thought he should have reduced the dosage then.
