Does anybody else use this and does it help.I just got off the oxycodone due being tired and sluggish all the time. Will it help with the tired feelings?I just want to be able to live life without pain and side effects.

I use a fentanyl patch calibrated at 25 micrograms per hour. I change it every third day. It helps a great deal.

I used a Fentanyl patch up to 50 mg strength for 2-3 months after my initial PCa diagnosis and radiation to my back. I then reduced the dose to 25 mg for another month or so, and then stopped using a patch forever in October last year after a total of about 4 months. It worked very well and got me through a very tough and painful period. However, I started having two side effects: firstly, a shortness of breath. I was constantly tired and just as I would drop off I would waken gasping a bit to breathe. This went away when I stopped the Fentanyl (I was taking oxycodone at the same time so it may have been that too, or the combination of the two). The other effect was some pretty vivid dreams which too went away. I used cannabis oil for a month or two thereafter (I recommend it) but haven't taken a painkiller (or the cannabis) since January.

I've been taking the cannabis oil as well but in moderation (when i need to sleep) yesterday was the first time on the fentanyl patch and it was after chemo treatment I had wicked hot flashes and chills all day yesterday woke up this morning with energy and not having that drugged out feeling that is awesome.Needed to get off the oxycodone .true test is later on after the Lunesta shot I get a lot of bone pain with that one hoping the patch keeps working. It's almost as feeling I've been reborn lol. I'm sure its the patch but if it keeps me pain free and energized I'm on board with it.

I've just ended 6 infusions of docetaxel (once every 3 weeks). I haven't needed painkillers at any point. I get occasional hot flashes (maybe 2-3 times a day getting less as the time passes to next infusion) and I understand those are a common side effect of the chemotherapy (rather than from a painkiller). Stay strong and wish you well with your treatment.

I used Hydromorphone as needed for serious cancer pain (level 4 or above) from 2012 to July 2017. Then as a result of spinal compression from spinal fractures, Hydromorphone was not enough so Fetanyl patches were prescribed. March of this year a palliative care specialist increased my Fetanyl dosage to 75 mcg patch and I have been able to go off Hydromorphone. Much less foggy headed ness and opiate side effects since then. Pain level now maintained at tolerable 3-4 most of the time.

I am not at your pain level. I do have regular back pains. They radiate downwards to my groin, hips, scrotum. I get relief from CBD oil and also a 1:1 mix of CBD and THC. It is legal here in FL. It helps a lot, especially with sleep. A number of my friends remarked how much better I have been looking.

I admit I do not understand the pain from the lunesta shot. But then, I have made a point to stay away from narcotic sleep aids. I find the MMJ does all of that for me, without and nasty side effects. If you live where you can get good quality MMJ, give it a try. It has worked very well for me. YMMV. Best of luck!

it's legal here in Maine as well. The Lunesta shot gives some wicked bone pain just had it done today and so far so good .Might be having an allergic reaction to the fentanyl patch we are trying it in a different site on the body to see if it's the patch or just side effect from yesterdays chemo treatment .
