Pretty easy compared to older scan techniques. You'll be injected while laying on the table that will then slowly glide through the scanner. You will immediately be scanned after injection, the radiological injection is time sensitive so no waiting around drinking water like the older scans. The scan takes about 45 minutes and your done. Results should be available the next day. I always like to get a copy of the report prior to my visit with my onco so I can read it and prepare questions. I've had 3 so far.

The scan is quite easy . The difficulty in my case was getting my insurer (cigna) to pay for it . They did not .

I managed to find the money from credit cards and it changed my whole treatment plan . (From palliative to curative ) I am grateful for the chance it has given me .

Yes I ran into issues with insurance as well, they deemed it experimental. Took the appeal process and help from healthcare provider to get it paid.
