Neuropathy.... but not from chemo

Hi Everyone,

I had inquired a while back about neuropathy relief for myself. I searched the neuropathy sites also and found some supplements to try. I am not able to take lyrica, gabapentin. So I've been taking the supplement listed below and it has given me about 65 % - 75% relief......unless.......I'm under a lot of stress. I'm sure it doesn't work the same for everyone but I think it's worth a try. I don't know if it would help with neuropathy brought on by chemo either. Again..... maybe worth a try.

Doctors Best Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid with BioEnhanced Na-RALA 100 mg once a day

I'm also going to add B-50 and see if that is helpful.

I'm going to stop all but the R-Lipoic Acid and B-50 and see if it is helpful. Stay tuned.

I hope it continues to help. The neuropathy was quite bad.

Hope this helps someone.

☺Jackie

p.s.

I removed a supplement that could possibly raise the men's psa very quickly. I never want to do anything to hurt any of you. Thank you so very much for the info from one of our precious men. Thank you tremendously Dale339!! Thank you tremendously Patrick..pjoshea!

Hi little more then 5 months since dx. Everything has been going well i guess but seem to be having problems with feet pain. I have been on metformin because of Zytiga which has made me diabetic . I assume it's neuropathy and thanks for your info. All info is greatly appreciated. Jon

Sugar is under 100 last checked over a year. The neuropathy is from my Sarcoidosis Nal. I will add the B-50. Thank you so much for the awesome knowledge. I so appreciate it ☺

Big hugs,

Me

The compound that may also help in peripheral neuropathy is ALPHA LIPOIC ACID 600 mg or 1200 mg depending on symptoms.

Well i'm on 1000 mg per day. Trying to navigate through all this. Can't complain on adt with Zytiga and Prendisone . Psa is down to 0.03. I'm Stage 4 with Mets 62 healthy diet and very active now i wish i didn't take care of myself what does it matter. I worried about my wife i can deal with this. My life has been great and will continue to have one.

Glad you are feeling better. Losing feeling can affect walking, driving, and if in your hands the ability to button a shirt. I think if we had grown up with these issues we would have adapted. But older brains well....

Thanks so much noirhole! It definitely does affect your life. Elbows to fingertips and knees to toes. I'm so thankful something is helping to relieve some of the pain.

I hope you're feeling okay too.

Gentle hugs 😊

I can't remember why but, if I'm not mistaken, Dr Meyers strongly advised against taking colostrum. This ring a bell with anyone else?

For anyone Dale? Or just prostate cancer patients? Thanks for posting the question.

Hi Dale,

I just posted separately on Colostrum, so that men who have already read Jackie's post might catch the Myers vlog post.

My husband has Neuropathy from chemo. We have tried the Alpha Lipoic Acid and it did not help my husband. We will give these suggestions a try. Thanks for the help!

Please disregard the colostrum. It's not good for prostate cancer softwaremom.

I struggled with neuropathy for the last 10 years, had trouble sleeping. I finally found the right combination of drugs and supplements. Here is the list, Take them one at a time in half hour increments before bedtime:

Mirapex 0.25mg, prescription

Gabapentin 600mg, prescription

Leg Cramps by Hylands 2 tablets, over the counter

Acetyl-L-Carnitine by Jarrow Formulas, over the counter, 500 mg

If you wondering about the leg cramp part of this, my foot neuropathy was so bad it would set off leg cramps in my caves.
