O K here is the deal , i was trying to discuss with my oncologist something i saw here re/ blood thinners. i said it may enhance the distribution of cancer cells. she said no. i don't understand a lot of this medical information so maybe what i read i misconstrued. please set me straight someone

I suggest that you read up on "micro-metastasis. I believe that you will quickly find that blood thinners and blood clots both have little bearing on where the little bastards land and grow.

Warfarin is low to achieve a stable value. Other drugs act faster. There are several factors involved in the clotting cascade. Factor ten (x) is targeted by the most recent round of anti-clot drugs: rivaoxiban and ipixaban. I think that rivaoxiban is being moved off the formulary next year (2018). Warfarin is a not-expensive drug. The injected drug, LMWH los molecular weight heparin, is pretty expensive but is not a "new" drug.
