My new treatment for prostate cancer will be provenge and lynparza. Got a call from Express Scripts that they don't cover lynparza for prostate cancer. Will talk to my oncologist on Monday to appeal this decision. Has anyone had this problem?

Good Morning hysir,

I took Lynparza for about 9 months and it was covered by my Medicare Part D plan (Humana Rx). Coverage was based on the results from a Guardant360 liquid biopsy, which revealed that my cancer had an ATM defect, for which Lynparza, as a PARP inhibitor, is approved for PCa.

It is about $10,000/month retail, so you will want coverage!

Best wishes. Never Give In.

Interesting..I was on Zytiga for 7 mths and it is not working now but did before. My oncologist said I should now go on Provenge. Would you guys who have had Provenge let me know more about this treatment and results? I am very anxious about this. THANKS. I hope Dan sees this.

Hi Sidn, What is your current psa and how fast is it rising ?and for how long has it been rising? I have never done Provenge, though I have heard it could make other treatments work better, and it was shown to have a survival advantage, that said it is better to do before The Cancer gets out of control. Have you done xtandi? That is what I did after Zytiga, and I got more out of it than I did zytiga. I wish you the best whichever way you go, I know there are guys on here who have done Provenge.

let me know how Provenge works for you. I will be startingit soon and am afraid of side effects. I understand from my wife who has been in a chapter of City of Hope said that she seems to remember Provenge being discovered at City of Hope Research in Duarte Calif.

After first infusion I had chills, nausea, and low blood pressure. Took about 5 hours for me to recover. It took me quite a while to recover from the Demerol. I ate a light dinner and had plenty of fluids. Felt great the next morning.
