Anybody try Keytruda for APC

Week I have blown through everything in about 2 years. Chemo, Zytiga, Xtandi, luprin, Lynparza. All with no benefits. Looking at my last biopsy I will be trying to get in a trial for Keytruda. Has anybody had any experience with this drug for prostate cancer.

The early results for keytruda are not as promising as I had hoped. I’ve discussed it with my MO, but I’ve not used it.

I don't have any direct experience, but I have heard of others whose tumors were tested and found to have confirmed "microsatellite instability-high (MSI‑H) or a mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) solid tumor" characteristics, and who tried Keytruda (pembrolizumab), per a relatively recent FDA approval for those situations, across a broad range of cancers.

I’m not an expert here but we did the Guardant 360 blood test, which showed that Keytruda was not a match, but Apalutimide was. After just 2 weeks, my dad has been up walking without any aid, and gaining strength every day. When this fails, we’re shooting for Daralutimide, which should be approved sometime near September. Keep hope alive Ssullivan. 💪

I was in a trial with keytruda and xofigo combo. It didnt work...but that doesn't mean keytruda wont work for you.

I have been in this battle for almost six years (please see bio for complete treatment history) and have been through everything you have listed, but not Keytruda.

Based on what I have read, latest, greatest trial is Lutetium 177/PSMA 617. Up to now you had to go to Germany for it, but recently saw a video with Dr. Oliver Sartor discussing a US trial. Sorry, but do not have the link.

I am in a clinical trial with keytruda and xtandi((had to fail xtandi before eligible) after first treatment PSA down from 77 to 52. Hoping it continues down. Minimal side effects so far(will get follow-up / third treatment this week) good luck on your continued journey!

the sad fact is there is no cure, and most of us will die once we reach this end point. My only suggestion is to make up a short bucket list and live large, i.e. do as many things as you can while you are able to. Get your affairs in order as well and hug those close. See you on the other side!

I do a lot more hugging now than I did before. The "live large" part gets a little harder each year. Just today I signed up with a total yard care service to make things easier for my wife into the future. It just got to be too much for me to do on a regular basis. Kind of sad to have to let go of such things as my roles and abilities change with approaching 5 years of advanced disease, age, and treatment side effects. On the other hand, kind of a sense of relief to make this transition relatively gracefully, sooner rather than later.

smart man. We all need to face dying and sadly, it is lacking in this fight and overall, so we tend to ignore it, until we are too incapacitated to do much, period, so good on you.

I made up a bucket list, toured the amazon jungle, went to Rio for carnival, also to Gettysburg, drove a drag strip car-in fact bought one, got another motorcycle-but now tough to use it but even in sitting on it, feels good!

Keep at it until you want the journey to end. for me, I have already set up my final goodbye, as I do not wish to end up in palliative care, tube fed and rotting in some dark corner. Better, I say, to go our on my own terms and see what is on the other side!!

I'm on Keytruda for a lung melanoma and not for Pca. It's working wonders for me so far.

J-o-h-n I am in chemo for my stage four NSCLC adenocarcinoma. My oncologist pretty much had said my prostate cancer isn't important to treat the lung cancer is. They are not a metastasis they are independent of each other. Have had 17 chemo treatments, experienced a lung injury from gemcitobine making me basically an invalid. I have a severe shortness of breathe. I am on my third pair of chemo drugs -avastin and Alimta now but am excepted into a Keytruda clinical study do of course your post flagged my interest. How is your melanoma responding? Shrinking? How do you feel? Did you do chemo first? Fail with chemo leading to Keytruda? Thanks!! Forever forward!! Don't give up. They will find newer drugs that will give us a chance!!!! David

HI, my name is Lynn, my husband has done all of the treatments which you mentioned, he is now on a clinicial trial. We will soon find out if this is working for him. We have an appointment this coming Friday.

There are many new treatments and more in the making. My husband had mutations for this drug, he did not qualify for Keytruda.

My husband was not a canadate for Keytruda He did have mutations for a drug called cometriq. He has been on this drug for a few months now. He is having a hard time with the side effects, mostly the mouth sores that are making it hard for him to eat, went to his oncologist yesterday and she was not happy about the weight he had lost,??? Nervous and worried. The dr, said he is running out of options. Thinking of getting another opinion.

Keep us posted about the Keytruda.
