I'm about to have SBRT treatment to one of my vertebrae (T10). Does anyone else have experience of this? In particular, were there any side effects?

Cyberknife treatment
External beam radiation treatments for 10 days to my T7 through T10 vertebra. Had minimal to no side effects. Got good pain relief almost immediately.
Thanks for replying Chas. Sounds like it worked for you but this is different I think. SBRT is done over a shorter period using higher doses (45 gy over 3 treatments). T10 is very close to the oesophagus and I was wondering whether this might cause nausea and vomiting.

Well I had radiation for L1 to T13, ending 10 days ago, read my update elsewhere. 19 fractions daily for 4 weeks. My esophagus did get damaged and burned, Radiologist agreed at end of treatment. Take the anti-nausea meds! They do not eliminate the dry heaves and vomiting, but greatly minimize it. With only 3 fractions, hopefully you will do better than I. Of course, my experience may have no bearing on your outcome. Wish you the best of luck and outcome.
Just to say that I have completed Cyberknife treatment on my vertebra over 3 days and it has gone well. They gave me a proton pump inhibitor to help with potential reflux and Dexamethosone to keep swelling down. No side effects so far apart from insomnia caused by the steroid. Haven't needed the anti-emetic yet. Now let's see what it does to my PSA. Can't wait to get off ADT.
