Has anybody ever had their prostate cancer cured or had their life improved by using medical marijuana ?

or is it just another fake snake oil treatment.

How does one really know when you take or try so many different treatments ;)

yes, that is true, but in my case I have had all the standard treatments and am now on chemo and I am not expected to receive a "cure" .

Mrjack,

I would add it to my daily regimen if possible. Keep us posted :)

My dad was using the rick simpson oil. It seemed to help at first, but then seemed to fizzle out. He tried 2 different other mixes. They definitely helped his appatite and pain levels he seemed ok for a while. I do think if you start early before it spreads so much. He started end of June after his hormone shots started failing around April.

MJ does not cure any type of cancer, including prostate cancer. However, it does provide excellent pain relief without a lot of the negative side effects that traditional opiates provide. See the post on the Advanced Prostate Cancer Blog : advancedprostatecancer.net/...

I have been using CBD from hemp for 2 - 3 years. I have never taken it to cure my cancer. I do take it for pain relief, chemo sickness, relaxing and as a rub on for arthritis joint pain. If you go online to ( hemplifetoday.com ) you can see all the ways it is available from pills, vape wax, powder, oils and salve. Another nice thing about CBD is you can't overdose with it. It works for me.

MrJack, I am sure you can read back through some of the old posts about the subject. I know there are many people who totally feel that it does nothing. Then there are others who believe it has done wonderful things for their quality of life. I am one of those in the later group. My husband had many problems because of his cancer and his diabetes. He was on a 50 mg patch every two days as well as hydrocodone 4 times a day for his neuropathy and still suffered greatly until we finally had him try Rick Simpson oil, a high cbc variety. He was able to totally stop the pain meds, and finally had relief from the neuropathy after years. He was also able to stop taking his blood pressure meds because it lowered his blood pressure so much that the doctor was worried that it was too low. He didn't need the lisinopril, which has its own set of side effects, so I was happy about that. He also was able to eliminate 4 of the 6 diabetic meds he took because his blood sugar was much lower. He was able to sleep at night, something he hadn't done in years, because he was a truck driver with a crazy schedule. And the pain from the cancer was helped for a long time until he finally suffered spinal cord compression and became paralyzed. Harley was taking a very large dose of the oil because we had hoped it would help slow his cancer progression. Most of our doctors were not aware that he was on the oil and could not understand why his blood pressure and blood sugars were so much better and why all of his numbers with his blood work were so good. And his appetite was always good. They often mentioned that. The doctor who gave us the prescription for the oil was not surprised. When he was in the rehab after surgery and radiation, he wouldn't take the oil because he was afraid they wouldn't let him. His was again unable to sleep, blood sugars went up, etc. While Harley still lost his life to the cancer, I must say that with the oil, his quality of life was much improved with far less side effects than the meds our primary doctor gave him over the years. I also know of others who needed a different variety to stimulate eating because of loss of appetite due to cancer. It works for many things. I originally sought out this treatment because of some articles I read about England doing human studies on cancer with cannabis and the good outcomes they are having. Just saying...keep an open mind and do the research yourself.

I believe all of this to be accurate too Charlean. I just am not sure of a cure ;) My opinion is the Marijuana also helps with all that you mentioned. Thank you for detailing so others may have some relief. I did not know or remember that it could possibly help neuropathy. I know we've had these conversations but memory had failed me. Thank you again. Sending hugs.

Thanks for the hugs. I just had my 44th anniversary on Oct. 6 and it was rough day. I missed all the things we usually did. I agree that there is not a lot of evidence of curing cancers with the oil but there seem to be some who believe it can. Harley was very progressed when we finally heard about it too so one never knows if you add it to the change in diet, supplements, etc. early on. And as for the neuropathy, this was truly the best part of it for him. Hope your husband is doing better with his latest treatment. Keeping you guys in my prayers.

I believe that love that you and Harley had for 44 years will endure for eternity Charlean. I believe he is with you and loving you each and every second. I'm so sorry he left earth and you are sad. Elgie stopped the Xtandi and is still struggling from the effects. Thank you Charlean ♡

I believe he's with me as well but I sure would love to have his arms around me once again. Not that it's any of my business, but I am glad he stopped it. I don't believe that these drugs are a wise choice when they take away the quality of life that is left. Often it is too short as it is so why make it worthless just to make it longer.

We made our lives yours and everyone's business...and are far better for it Charlean. We VALUE everyone's thoughts and knowledge as you already know ;)

I so much wish you could feel Harley's arms around you too....♡

My niece's husband is a doctor in palliative care. Do you mind if I ask you if this was the kind of oil that does not have the psychoactive effects, as best as you know.

The doctors should not be afraid of this stuff, since it works in at least some cases, and provides a real benefit.

in reply toCharlean

So sorry that Harley died. My mom lived many years after my father died, and I think it must have been so hard on her. Kids were around, but it's all hard.

It is one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with. I had no idea just how hard. I can be in a room full of people and still feel the deepest loneliness. No one can ever be prepared for this.

Mrjack-

My husband tried Drobinol to help his appetite. It didn't work for that. When he took two it made him dangerously unsteady on his feet. Our vote is "snake oil". But whatever works for your cancer.

Best of luck to you,

Wifeinjamul

OK, here it goes....

I agree with what Jackie says, but...when I was first diagnosed, my PHD sister-in-law suggested I smoke weed again. So I did. Shortly thereafter I quit smoking cigarettes, and shortly after that, I quit smoking weed. That's when I was turned onto vaping wax.

My seventh anniversary is coming up very quickly. I have mets on my spine, hip and sacrum. I'm on Lupron and Zytiga. I have no pain whatsoever. Can I attribute it to CBD? I can't say for sure, but I'm surely not giving it up.

Peace, Joe

Smoking marijuana, for many of us, is relaxing & fun. So it lowers your stress hormones & increases your pleasure hormones, which is both very pleasant & helps you fight cancer. It also fights nausea from chemo. It can distract you from pain. Cannabis creams for external use provide relief for some kinds of pain.

If there are cannabis products that might be powerful cancer fighters, it would be the concentrated oils & perhaps the sprays & tinctures. To my knowledge, we don't know much thanks to the US government's interference with researchers' ability to study cannabis.

I'd certainly like to hear if anyone thinks a cannabis product has knocked their PSA down, made mets shrink, or anything like that.

As in my last post....I'm not sure... but Elgie has been in remission while on Marijuana products until recently and according to the new doctor he may still be in remission. I know it helps him to feel better. It gives him less stress. It helped him sleep until the Xtandi. He only uses it to wind down and sleep at night but we feel it has helped keep the cancer away. I hope this is helpful.

That's great! It hope it continues. May I ask which products? I know marijuana helps me feel better--less stressed & having more fun--& helps me wind down & sleep, too.

It's not legal here Neal. I really don't know. ;) Just whatever they have. We don't have choices.

erjlg3 profile image

Plus it makes me paranoid so I can't for the neuropathy. I am wondering if this snake oil would make one paranoid......hmmmm....

Neal-Snyder profile image
Neal-Snyder in reply toerjlg3

I'm glad it really helps him. Maybe it wouldn't make you paranoid if it were legal.

erjlg3 profile image

Lol.....No. ...I've tried in in brownies separate times and I'm a paranoid person anyway lol.

At least fifty million americanos admit to use. Probably much more use. It is because it makes people feel good in many many ways. . The medical values of marijuana are just barely being tapped. Those morally opposed have been blinded due to the war on drugs policy that has failed this nations citizens. God put all things on earth for our benifit. People make mistakes , God does not.
