Xofigo

Who has been treated with Xofigo. Did you have soft tissue mets as well as bone mets? Currently taking Zytiga and will be adding Xofigo next week. I have bone mets and soft tissue mets. I know Xofigo won't work for soft tissue mets but will work for bone mets. Please share your experience with Xofigo. Thanks,

Xofigo has been approved for men who have bone mets and no other type. The FDA approval is directly in response to the design of the clinical trials which excluded men with visceral mets. Therefore the FDA's approval of Xofigo is very specific and limits its approved use for men who have only bone mets.

Xofigo works by mimicking Calcium which goes to bone. This means that the drug goes to the bones and does not touch any soft tissue or any soft tissue mets.

To answer your question, will having soft tissue mets mean that Xofigo will not work on Bone mets can not be answered because the question has not been subjected to a trial. However, there isn't any logical reason I can think of that would render Xofigo unable to go to the bone and treat any bone mets in a man who also has soft tissue mets. I am not saying that having both visceral and bone mets will work on the bone mets, but......

Thank you Joel for your response. I do believe there are men out there who have soft tissue mets and bone mets and were given Xofigo as a treatment.
