Tools to manage ADHD

Hi,

I have been looking for tools to track and manage my symptom, lifestylefactors etc. I believe that understanding what makes me feel bad, make bad decisions or end up in arguments with my wife is crucial to be able to manage!

Are there anyone having tips of ADHD specifik tools out there which you have good experience in using?

Thanks,

Gustav

I don't know about any ADHD specific tools for tracking like that, besides the "Bullet Journal" (because of it's flexibility to use it as you want to).

I'm sure that such tools exist. I've just used a note taking app on my phone to create a note on a particular thing to track, and add a new entry as in need to (sort-of like a searchable journal).

I've got my own ideas of what I'd like to see in an app, but haven't found an app that meets all my needs yet.

I'm following this because I know that an app would be useful for me, too. I am very attached to my phone during the day, so an app could redirect my electronics use to something more practical. Good luck!

There are a billion ADHD programs and techniques out there. Just google ADHD and coaching. Search for ADHD podcasts--there are a ton out there and every one of the host has a program aimed at helping ADHD people.

Read here. Read additude.com ... which is excellent and has article after article of suggestions ... I'm a member of add.org and they run support groups for all kinds of aspects of ADHD. There is no one program. There are dozens and dozens of programs and protocols.

And of course, most of these programs assume that we are taking care of the basics. And the basics are medication treatment for ADHD. The basics include treatment (medication and/or therapy) for depression or anxiety--which runs extremely high among people with ADHD.

And oddly enough, a huge assumption and goal of many of the best programs is that you have to develop real genuine compassion for yourself, because with ADHD, we're not ever going to be perfect and we'll frequently have slips and problems. So you want to start with the idea that you don't waste time berating yourself so badly that you get demoralized.

Do you have any of the basics in place? Medication? Therapy?

Not what you're looking for?
