This is regarding getting a prescription in the US where our health coverage can be so messy and expensive. My current health insurance policy is not affordable and mental health coverage is basically non existant.
I do qualify under ACA for enrollment for a new plan right now however.
What insurance companies have the best coverage for ADHD??? I read that some plans are more strict on prescriptions since it is a controlled substance.
Please help me my life is in shambles

Coverage varies by state and location. So there is no overall guideline that I think we can give you. But there are local consultants/ brokers who are free whose job it is to help you find the right plan. You tell them the meds you want covered and so on ... the conditions you have ... and they help you figure out the options ...
As getting it together says, you’ll want to work with a navigator. Ask every question, go over the plans line by line and double check the plan covers your providers. And use the 30 day window: make your apts in that period to confirm you have the right plan for you.
Many of us in the US have health coverage through employers. Sometimes employers have limitations like "if your spouse is offered health insurance but their employer, then they can't be on our plan."(I'm not married anymore, but my kids are on my health plan.)
Type of plan can have a big impact. PPO plans are usually more expensive up front, but have better coverage and lower out-of-pocket expenses.
But like someone already said, it varies by the state and the location.

To help with prescription cost, for a couple of years I was using a service called RxSaver. (It helped me to check prices for my prescriptions at nearby pharmacies and find discounts that I could use at the pharmacy.)
(I don't need to use it now, because I now get a better discount through my health plan.)
