Concerta and Vyvanse are extremely similar long-acting stimulants. Both drugs are approved for the treatment of ADHD, with their effects lasting for about 12 hours. The most significant difference between Concerta and Vyvanse is that Vyvanse is a prodrug, which essentially means that it must undergo a chemical conversion in the body in order to produce an active pharmacological agent. In other words, Vyvanse is inactive in its capsule/tablet form and will only become an active drug after its been ingested and metabolized.
You should be able to substitute your Vyvanse prescription for Concerta during your temporary move without any issues since they're so similar, but just make sure you communicate any changes in how you feel with your doctor.
This response is just the best, thank you so much. Gives me a lot of hope too as i was getting worried. This is the answer!!
I'm no chemist at all, I wonder if a pro drug is less 'toxic' as it tells the body to make the drug, or if all drugs are the same and looking after your liver should always be a priority?!?! we're hardly talking cigarettes and alcohol, but still its good to look after yourself.
