searching ADHD parents from northern Maryland

Hi, I have recently moved to north Maryland(Hagerstown, MD) and I need support of parents who like me, have ADHD kids. I have 11 years old son with diagnosed ADHD. As a single mother I am struggling a lot about finding a better middle school, a good therapist here for example, and I am feeling alone. I did research to find support groups or opportunities for our kids and us also, but could find nothing in this area. Anybody who is having same problems like me?

Hi Asha, I used to live in rockville, and there were Chadd meetings there,but here in Hagerstown, nothing. I am looking to find a good therapist instead of pshchiatrist. My son is refusing to take pills

I often wonder what it was like to raise someone like me. It must have been exhausting. I wish ADHD was on the radar back when I was a child like it is now. Have you a parents group of any kind in your school? I guarantee you 100 percent there are other children who have kids with ADD/ADHD. Good luck I hope you and your kiddos find the support and resources that you need.

Hi. No, I couldnt find any parent like me. I dont know where are they hiding? Thank you for your comments. I am planning to organize meetings on behalf of CHADD. Because in this area chadd has no branch

If you build it....? Maybe you haven't found the parents yet, but I bet once you start your group they will find you and be so grateful.
