Does it exist a job for who has adhd ?

I've tried working in an office, full-time job, but my brain doesn't focus well enough and I keep making mistakes and forgetting things. It even affects my mood so bad and stresses me out. I feel so stupid and I want to quit

I don't know what to do

I'd like to work with animals, languages or graphic animation and I'd like to learn more about these carriers and if they are suit for someone who has ADHD

I'm afraid to make the same mistake again: to waste time for something that I will end up not liking

Has anyone been there ?

I'd love some carriers tips

Thank you

Are you taking medication? You might want to see a psychologist.or therapist. They might be able to give you advice on things that might help with the problems you are having with work.

Sitting behind a desk ain't the right job for someone with ADHD. Sales (especially going out of the office) ... paramedics, firefighter, police ... teacher (right situation) ... jobs that generate adrenaline ... additudemag.com/slideshows/...

The thing is that you are listing interests, not careers. Each of those areas has many potential jobs associated with it.

Another thing is that even many fields that could be good for someone with ADHD require jumping through hoops that may be really hard in the ADHD. I agree that teaching can be a great career for ADHD and I think we are over represented in the field, but to become a teacher in many places takes a ton of testing and paperwork (that’s you have to arrange independently and on schedule that can suck for ADHD. Job hunting is required for every field and tends to hit many ADHD weak points, even if the actual job is good.

So I agree that it’s important that you are also building up your self coping and management skills and getting your medication right. That will help you thrive in more places and open more doors.

My brother loves his (mostly office-based) job and is great at it, but there’s bigger parts of it that would be miserable if not impossible for him without his drugs + management. I’ma teacher and mostly love it (after finding the right school) abs I could probably be ok in the classroom without my supports, but planning would be a disaster.

When you don’t have clear direction (a common issue for ADHD), one helpful thing is to think practically about trying to get into a field where you already have strong connections or where demand is greater than supply. Unless the language you are talking about is something like Mandarin or Arabic, the areas you listed tend to attract a lot of people and are not great for job hunting unless you take a pretty broad interpretation. For example, English as a new language teachers are in demand in my school district. But I don’t know if that fits your interest.

I understand your issue, I worked for 3M and J&J so I know how a highly structured environment can be incompatible with the ADHD brain. I found that I flourished when I was able to work independent from an office and a specific schedule. For me working, then taking a small break and then going back to work is ideal (wash, rinse, repeat). Setting your own schedule allows for the different way ADHD people may be most productive. Btw stimulant meds really help me out with executive function or what to do when and don’t get hyper focused on details that don’t require that level of attention.

You mention wasting time, I think the more you learn about what works for you, the less time you will “waste” in your future. I don’t know your concerns (ie age, financial condition, support system, etc).

That said, life is about exploring and finding joy in what you do, who you do it with and the contribution that you make. If you keep searching, You will find something that works for you, I’m convinced

I've had a hundred occupational choices. Literally according to Social Security. I'm 66 now and settled finally as a independent gardener for the last 26 years. Late diagnosis is a problem. I would have a better life and could have been successful at any of those jobs with medication.
